Technical Information: This is a new Dreadnought, with Adirondack top with big foot purfling and highly grained maple bindings on body, neck and headstock, Pau Ferro (also called Bolivian Rosewood) back and sides,Mahogany neck with Maple in the middle and in the back, Cocobolo Rosewood Overlay on the front of the headsotck and Brazilian Rosewood overlay on the back of the headstock, African Blackwood bridge and bridge plate, soundport on side. The rosette is Paua, Cocobolo Rosewood, Paua. Nickel plated Waverly tuners. Sunburst top.
Bob Singer's Notes: This is a rich, powerful dreadnought, reminiscent of the 60's sound. Note the closeup of the soundhole. This has K&K's best pick-up. It has 3 pickups - under the saddle, under the bridge and a microphone. It is an active pickup with a circuit board (behind the soundhole) with base, mid-range and treble pots for EACH pick-up. Once you've set the pots the way you like, just move the circuit board where it can't be seen (it's attached by velcro). There are 3 gain controls (wheels) in the soundport - one for each pickup. This sound not only has a great sound acoustically, but a phenomenal sound through an amp. It won't make any difference how a sound person sets up their system...just tell him/her to set it flat and you are ready to go!!!
I love Paul's take on a classic vine inlay. Take a close look through the pictures to see the quality and the many different woods and shells he has used. The inlay artistry was done by Paul Bordeaux. Click here for information about John Kinnaird Guitars.
